Happy 4th of July

I decided to celebrate the 4th of July this year, despite the significant damage that has been done. I’m celebrating because I believe in all we can be. I believe we can collectively fix this country yet. The Constitution was crafted with the solemn oath to always strive for self betterment.

There’s a lot of esotericism that went into writing the constitution, so it is a sacred document. But not sacred in a religious sense. More in the, “You get me closer to God,” sense.

When you get into the Masonic ideals that those wise philosophers upheld, you know that because these men were part of a fraternity that survived for centuries, they knew that change is what gives way to longevity.

They were also deists; they believe God sent the world into motion and didn’t interfere. So of course they created this country with guidelines to change if need be. They left it up to the people in the future to decide what direction we’re going to take. That’s why they made the Constitution so flexible.

The best thing we can do now is have each other‘s backs. We need to celebrate our strengths and use them to illuminate our weaknesses. We are stronger together. united we stand divided we fall.

I enjoy celebrating the 4th of July for different reasons than celebrating the military. I prefer to shift my focus to the land, to our Parks and open spaces.

I also solemnly acknowledge that Indigenous treaties need to be honored on this day as well. Honoring those treaties is the way forward for this country. It is the best way to make peace with the land which we violated in so many ways in my opinion.

So to me, the Fourth of July is about esoteric philosophy, alchemy, self betterment, solemnly upholding oaths, and connecting with the spirits of the land where we live.

And me we always strive to do better.
